(Open to anyone)
Sawyer stood at the edge of the water for a moment, looking up at the endless sky. It was filled with heavy clouds as far as one could see. It was early morning, before most of the other survivors had risen from their sleep. He was clad in a pair of shorts and nothing else. Sure, it was a little cold, but he could handle it. Sawyer waded slowly into the ocean, until he was up to about his waist. There, all alone with nothing but the water, he tried to relax, to get the pressures and the anger and just everything to wash away.

"Having fun?" Kate asked Sawyer interrupting his tranquility. She could see he was here to get away from everyone and so felt a little guilty but there was no one else to talk to.Her and Sawyer were the only ones awake.

Sawyer stopped treading water as he heard the one voice that he could tolerate interrupting. So he set hs feet into the soft sand and turned around, the water halfway up to his chest. "Mornin' Freckles." he said, smiling at her from out in the water. He waded in a bit, but only to the point where the water was just about at his waist. Sawyer did his best to act as if she didn't have to feel guilty.
"What's up?" he asked.

Kate looked at Sawyer in the water. She couldn't help thinking he looked kind of...nice with his top off and his hair wet. 'What is wrong with me!' Kate thought trying to get the thoughts out of her head. "Woke up early." Kate answered. "Decided to have a wander around."

Sawyer raised his arms so that he could run his hands through his wet hair, getting the loose strands out of his face. He wore his trademark southern smirk. After slicking his hair back, he crossed his arms across his chest. He couldn't help but think she looked..nice all the damn time.
"Well, if it don't bother ya too much, mind if I have a wander with ya?" he asked.

Kate saw Sawyer's smirk and couldn't help grinning back. She could feel his eyes on her. She crossed her arms too. "....Or if you don't mind I could join you for a swim." She replied.

Sawyer tilted his head in slight amusement, but there was definitely no argument from him. "Alright Freckles, but I do warn ya'.." he began, taking a couple steps backwards into deeper water, "It's mighty cold in here." he finished. He knew that probably wouldn't deter her, and he was glad.

Kate laughed. "I'm sure I can handle a little cold water." She smiled. She took off her shoes and jeans and then dove into the water. When she surfaced she closed her eyes. "I see what you mean about it being cold." She laughed before splashing Sawyer.

Sawyer's smirk never faded as she stripped down and fearlessly hopped into the water, surfacing near him. He still had his arms crossed, because he'd expected her to come up from the water groaning about how cold it was. However, when she laughed, he raised an eyebrow in surprise. He'd been about to make a comment when she splashed him, with what seemed like EXTRA cold water.
"Hey!" he barked, shielding his face from the dangerous droplets. He laughed though, and gave her a splash of his own. Then, he dove towards her, intending to initiate a chase for vengeance.

Kate laughed at Sawyer's reaction to the cold water being splashed on him and dived quickly out the way when he went for her. When she was out the way and Sawyer resurfaced she said: "Gotta be quicker then that Sawyer!" And swam underwater out of site.

Sawyer gave her a smirk just before Kate dove back underwater. He was beginning to forget the chills, now that he had a bit of fine company. Sawyer began to walk towards where she'd gone underwater, as the waves rolled past his abdomen. He looked carefully around, trying to spot Kate.

Kate could see Sawyer through the water. She smiled to herself at the thought that he couldn't see her. She resurfaced and splashed Sawyer again whilst catching her breath. Before he could spot her she was underwater again. She could see him moving around confused at where she had gone. She was about to surface again when her foot got caught in something. A bunch of weeds wedged in between a rock. She moved but now her foot was stuck between the rocks. She pulled but it wouldn't budge. She needed air. She moved her arms frantically but it didn't work.

Sawyer was having a darn hell of a time trying to catch Freckles. She was surely getting the best of him and the cold water that dripped down his face was proof of that. He looked around, trying to anticipate Kate's next strike..but it never came. She had been down way too long. Sawyer began to worry, and out of the corner of his eye he saw Bubbles coming from his right. He dove under the water like a baywatch lifeguard and swam towards the bubbles.
Sawyer opened his eyes, and he could vaguely see her struggling. He got closer to her, and saw that her foot was stuck. With one hand, he held onto her leg softly, and with the other, he pried the rock off of her, freeing her foot. He then let go of her leg and resurfaced, pulling her to the top by her hand.

Kate struggled and struggled but then she just gave up. Her body went limp as Sawyer took hold of her ankle. He pulled her to the waters surface but she still did not move. The water had drowned the air in her lungs and she had passed out. She could feel Sawyer breathing hard from being underwater but she did not make a sound.

Sawyer only realized that the woman in his hands was limp when he brough her to the surface, and she didn't open her eyes. Sawyer wasn't exactly a lifeguard, unfortunately. He did put his cheek to her lips to see if he could feel her breathing, and she was. She had a pulse, so she didn't need CPR or anything. Sawyer took Kate in his arms and carried her to shore, laying her on the sand beside her clothes. He sat next to her, and waited.
(OOC: I'm assuming she didn't inhale any water and just passed out?)
