Sawyer glanced down the beach, noticing that now there were a few more bodies up and moving around. He saw a fire start, up, and he sighed. He looked at his hands, covered in little knicks and cuts from the island life. After a few moments, he decided just to go along with what she wanted.
Sawyer stood, and he offered a hand out to help pull Kate up if she wanted it..

Kate smiled at Sawyer and after a second took his hand and he helped her up. She dusted herself down and then looked up to see Jack coming over. Why wasn't he in the hatch? Kate couldn't help but think this was going to be awkward. ((cue Jack! Thic could be interesting mwaha ))

Jack had wondered why Kate wasn't in the hatch for her shift, but he soon found why, leaving a more than capable John Locke down there taking over for Kate, Jack approached Kate who was busy flirting with Sawyer to do her shift.
"Hey" Jack said to Kate "where were you?" Jack asked already knowing the answer.

Kate looked at Jack....yep awkward...
At first she was confused at what he was talking about but then she realised. "My shift in the hatch!" Kate said remembering and kicking herself for forgetting. She looked to the ground for a second and then back up at Jack. "I'm sorry." She said really meaning it.

Sawyer crossed his arms as he watched Jack approach. He put on his sweetest smile and gave Jack a nod. "Mornin, Doc." he said in a deep southern accent. His smile faded only slightly when it was revealed that Kate had missed her button-pressing appointment because of Sawyer.
"Aww, damn. Sorry for keepin' ya, Freckles."

Kate tore her eyes away from Jack and looked at Sawyer. She smiled weakly. "It's not your fault." She said to him. "It's mine." She hoped she hadn't disappointed Jack but it must be worse seeing as she had spent the time having fun with Sawyer when she was supposed to be at the hatch.

JACK
He looked at Kate. He couldn't help but feel a little jealous that Sawyer was watching the sun rise with Kate while he had been looking for her to do her shift at the hatch. He looked at Sawyer as if it was his fault but then looked back at Kate.
"I'm sorry." He sighed and looked at his feet before looking back up to her. He couldn't stay mad at her.
"It's ok." He said putting his hand to his head. "Your shift is almost over anyway so you'll have to take the next one."
KATE
She was worried Jack would be angry. She didn't want to make him angry but she didn't want to upset Sawyer either. Everything was just a mess. But Jack seemed to forgive her. She was relieved in a way. Jack being angry at her would have just complicated things further.
