((Dunno never really drowned before, sorry. I'll just go with what you posted )) Kate lay on the sand still. She lay there for a little while. Her chest gently rising and falling. Suddenly she sat up really fast and breathed in hard. She then started coughing and her hand reached for Sawyer's arm to support her. She looked at him between coughs. She then tired to speak. "Sawyer." She breathed. "Theres something down there!" ((not sure what yet thoug so if you have any ideas then they're welcome If not then I'll think of something))

Sawyer sat by, idly watching her as she breathed. He thought about grabbing something to cover her, because it was still pretty damn cold. But his mind didn't get to make the decision, because she shot up like someone who had just risen from a nightmare. His muscles tensed involuntarily when she grabbed his arm, but he relaxed them and tried to realize what it was she was saying.
When she told him there was something down there, he nodded and glanced back towards the water. "I'll check it out..But are you okay, Freckles?" he asked sincerely.

Kate caught her breath and nodded at Sawyer. "Yeah, yeah. I'm okay." She replied releasing his arm. She didn't see clearly what was down there. But something was. She couldn't give Sawyer any more information but she did want him to do one thing: "Be careful." She said to him seriously with worry in her eyes. She didn't want anything to happen to him.

Sawyer shook his head a bit to get his hair out of his eyes, and he stood up. He wiped the sand that was on his hands off using his shorts. He gave Kate a confident grin. "I'll be fine.." he said, in a slightly nicer tone, to try and reassure her. He didn't want her to worry, especially about him.
His eyes reluctantly pulled away from Kate's, and he waded into the water. He searched around to try and recall where they had been, and after a few moments.. he felt confident that he had found the place. At about chest-deep level, Sawyer dove under the water and opened his eyes. It stung, at first, but the water was just clear enough.
He searched, and could see nothing. After a moment though, he saw a slight glint near a rock, and he reached for it. Suddenly, something struck out at his hand. Sawyer pulled it away just in time before the eel's razor-teeth could take off a finger. Sawyer stared as it retreated back into it's little cave, and sawyer snatched whatever was causing the glint.
Sawyer rose from the water and hurried towards shore, and he held up the object. It was a necklace, some silver chain with a blue gem attached. Sawyer was amazed that it hadn't been destroyed, and he shook it to get sand off of it as he reached the beach where Kate was. He held out the necklace after kneeling beside her.

Kate waited on the beach. What did she see? Was it dangerous? Was it nothing? Soon enough Sawyer came back out the water. She looked at him and he walked over. He kneeled beside her and Kate was a little confused. What had he found?
Then he held out a necklace. Kate stared at it. "It's beautiful." She said looking at it glint in the sunlight. Was that what she had seen? A necklace?

(Heh, sorry. It was the only thing that came to mind. Maybe she saw the eel? *Shrug..*)
Sawyer held the necklace for a moment, letting her look at it. He stared at it too. After a few seconds, he pulled it back to him and looked at the gem a little closer. It looked pretty authentic. And a conman's word was usually pretty good when it came to authenticity.
"Well, I ain't one to wear a necklace, so you should take it, Freckles." he said, and he held it out to her in the palm of his hand, looking up into her eyes.

((ok ))
Kate tore her eyes away from the necklace and looked in Sawyer's eyes. "Really?" She asked looking at him seriously. She wasn't entirely sure whether she should take it. They had found a necklace, pretty much undamaged, in the sea by the beach. Where had it come from? And who's was it?

Sawyer saw thet she was a little hesitant to take it, but he held it out to her nonetheless. It was a very odd thing to find randomly in the ocean, and Sawyer knew that she wasn't exactly the type to flaunt off all of her jewlery. But he thought she would look good with it.
"I don't have a use for it, and it'd match your eyes." he said with a smile.

Kate nearly blushed but she smiled at him. He was smiling at her too. She took the necklace without even looking away from his eyes. She put it on and then looked down at it. It looked great on her. She felt slightly guilty about wearing it as it wasn't hers but it was abandoned in the sea. Which made her think how it got there. "Where do you think it came from?" She asked looking at it.

Sawyer sat back in the sand after watching her put the necklace on. "Well.." he began, trying to imagine a scenario that would've led to the necklace being here. "I don't think it belongs to anyone on the island..Because nobody's asked me about it yet." he met her eyes. "And everyone always comes straight to me when they're looking for somethin'. "
"So..I don't really know." he said.

Kate nodded and looked down at the necklace. It still baffled her to how it had gotten here but there was no point dwelling on it. She looked up and saw him looking right into her eyes. She smiled and looked him in the eyes too.

Sawyer couldn't help but zone out a little bit as their eyes locked, and the only thought that filtered through his mind was to kiss her. But..He figured it was a little too early to get pushed back into the ocean. Although the view of her storming off wouldn't have been too bad..
Sawyer turned his head and looked out towards the rising sun.

Kate followed Sawyer's gaze to the sunrise and smiled. It was beautiful, just like the necklace. She laughed slightly. Right now she felt happy. Just her, Sawyer and the view of the sun rising. It was hard to think that they were all strangers not long ago.

Sawyer hadn't imagined, in the weeks that he'd been here on the island, that he would ever get a chance to sit on the sand, and watch the sunrise. Without a care in the world. It had been an even longer shot that he'd be doing that with Kate sitting there beside him.
"All that's missin' is a pair of Margaritas." he saids with a slight grin, looking back at Kate.

Kate laughed. She smiled and looked back at him. She didn't want this moment to end...But it would have to soon. They couldn't just sit there and watch the beauty of their surroundings forever. They couldn't. "We better be getting back soon." Kate said looking away from Sawyer. Then she let their eyes meet again. She wanted to stay here...with him. But she couldn't...could she?
