Libby had been at camp with the other survivors for a little while now. She was relieved when it seemed the Others didn't come after them there. She was tired of being chased and always worried about being taken like Cindy and the children had been. Libby often wondered what happened to those they took. And why they were taken.
But now, Libby had grown comfortable enough with her new surroundings that she decided to go off on a walk. She had heard of a lagoon in the jungle with a beautiful waterfall, and she wanted to see it herself. So she put her tennis shoes on and gained vague directions from one of the other survivors, then took off. Libby knew she should have brought someone with her, but she didn't know anyone well enough to ask besides maybe Ana. But Ana would probably not have come. She was too upset lately.
Looking around her in the jungle, she thought she could hear the waterfall, but she couldn't see it yet. She took a step through some trees and saw the most beautiful sight she could remember. She also saw she wasn't the only one with this idea. When the other person noticed her, she waved, unsure if she should go speak with them or leave them alone.

Claire approached Libby with a smile, "Hi Libby," she greeted shyly as she didn't know Libby all that well yet. She was suprised to see her here. She figured it was a coincidence as she didn't come here very often either.

"Hi. Claire, right?" Libby asked. She was still getting to know everyone's names. She smiled at the young woman, surprised that she wasn't carrying her infant. She must be getting a well deserved break.
"I almost didn't recognize you without the baby," she giggled, trying to make a joke. "So, what are you doing way out here?"

Claire laughed with her. She did feel a little strange without Aaron with her. It was like they were always together. That's probably why Charlie nagged her to take a break. That and because she needed the break. Claire took off her bag, "Oh, Charlie said I should take some time off from looking after Aaron, my son, so I thought I should take a walk. Well, now that I can," she smiled.

Libby smiled. She was aware of the demands on a new mother and had counseled several who simply felt overwhelmed. Libby was sure Claire had it ten times worse being stranded here on the island without modern conveniences. She was glad for Claire that she had not experienced post-partum depression because it would have been an easier thing to happen in these circumstances.
"Well, I am glad Charlie is smart enough to realize you need a break now and then," Libby said with a sweet smile. "And I'm glad to have met up with you out here. I don't know too many people on the beach yet, so I didn't ask anyone to join me, but I didn't necessarily relish the idea of being alone either."

Claire smiled politely, "Well it can be pretty scary out here sometimes," she said doubting whether she should have said it, "But it's nice to get away from the beach sometimes, you know? Escape. I mean, Charlie's always making a joke or Jack's always being heroic or Sawyer's always conning or annoying someone." she paused, "It's hard to believe I only met these people a couple months ago," she laughed.

"Well everyone is still pretty much a stranger to me, so I can't say I know about all of their bad habits just yet" Libby replied. "But I'm sure I'll have plenty of time to find out."
Libby was looking forward to getting to know everyone at the beach, even the infamous Sawyer. She knew him a bit from when they trekked through the jungle on their way back. He was full of contempt and one liners. Libby found him quite amusing really. He could easily turn out to be the most interesting person on the island.
"So," Libby changed the subject a bit, "are you planning on going for a swim?"

"Well, I wasn't planning to but perhaps." she felt the sun burn her face and the humid air coming from the jungle, "Would be a good idea in this heat," she added wiping her face.

"It does look inviting," Libby giggled. She wished she had more clothes than the ones on her back. Of course swimiming in them could help clean them at the same time. "I'm up for it." she declared and looked at Claire. "I say we swim and have a little fun. No sense in wasting the great view and cool water."

"Okay then." Claire figured she'd just have to roll up her sleeves to have a paddle and allow the cold water to sooth her, "I'll have to roll up my clothes." She rested her leg on a rock and pulled up her jeans so they were like shorts, then took of her summer jacket and rolled up her sleeves, "Ready," she smiled walking towards the water.

Libby didn't bother taking anything off. Her plan was to make her clothes cleaner along with the rest of her. She didn't have a wardrobe as of yet. She secretly hoped once she made friends with some of the women on the beach that they would be kind enough to share some of their clothes with her. She had not been lucky enough to recover any of her luggage.
Sliding to the edge of the water she dipped a foot in. "Oh, this is going to be cold," she giggled. But wiping the sweat off her head she smiled, "but it will be totally worth it!" With that she just jumped in and get herself soaking wet head to toe.

Claire laughed, "I sure hope this doesn't hurt," she said before she dived in as well. As she bobbed back up she smoothed her hair back. "I thought: why not?" she smiled as she had not planned to jump in.

Libby giggled like a school girl. She watched as Claire decided on a whim to jump in and it just made it all the more fun. They were acting like a couple of kids, and the therapist in her knew it was good therapy, too.
"C'mon," Libby said sending a small splash in Claire's direction. "Let's play!" With that, Libby took off swimming into the lagoon. The water was refreshing like she thought it would be. But the water was more proving to be more than that. It was restoring her heart and soul.

Claire laughed too and followed Libby. She hadn't had this much fun in ages. She didn't have to worry about Aaron or dwell on Thomas. She would let the water wash away the worry and pain. "I haven't been in this bit before," said Claire looking around as she spread her arms out and waded through the cool water.

"I haven't been in any part of it before," Libby laughed.
This was so nice. Libby could forget there were Others and that she was stranded on the island. She could forget that she didn't have many friends and that she had a sad past. Libby could even forget she had a nervous breakdown and spent time recovering in a mental hospital. She swam toward the waterfall. It was so peaceful and filled with beauty. This place was like a place blessed by the hand of God. It was a respite from the rest of this mysterious and forgotten island. It was like Heaven.
"This is so wonderful," Libby called out to Claire. "I don't think I ever want to leave!"
